The Netravathi Peak Trek is a scenic and moderately challenging trek located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India. Named after the Netravathi River, which originates in this region, the trek offers a rich blend of lush greenery, shola forests, rolling grasslands, and panoramic views

Netravati Peak is a 1520-metre-high peak is sandwiched between Belthangady Taluk of Dakshina Kannada and Chikmagalur District of Karnataka. It is a part of the Western Ghat range which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its biodiversity. While it is close to some other famous peaks such as the Kudremukh, this trek remains comparatively lesser-known. A less known trekking trail in Chikmagalur.

Note : Netravati trek permits are issued based on the availability from the forest department. If we do not get permits, Native Team have all rights to cancel the event or postpone or refund.

Important Info:

  • Permissions: The trek requires prior permission from the Forest Department, as it falls within a protected national park.
  • Entry Point: Samse village is the common base, accessible from Kalasa town.

  • Accommodation: Homestays are available in and around Samse. Camping is not allowed inside the national park.

  • Guides: Hiring a local guide is mandatory as per forest rules.

Day 1

  • 6:00 AM: Arrive at the campsite

  • 7:00 AM: Indulge in a hearty breakfast

  • 7:30 AM: Pack your lunch in your personal lunch box

  • 8:00 AM: Kick off the scenic Netravathi Trek from the Forest Office in Mullodi; journey past majestic two-tiered waterfalls and traverse dense forests

  • Marvel as you catch sight of the Netravathi River and cross over to vibrant grasslands

  • Conquer the false peak, tackling steep sections until you reach the breathtaking Netravathi Peak, where fleeting, dreamy clouds create a viral spectacle

  • 1:00 PM: Enjoy a nutritious packed lunch at the peak

  • 1:30 PM: Begin your descent

    5:30 PM: Arrive back at the base of the Forest Office in Mullodi

  • 6:00 PM: Return to the campsite

  • 7:00 PM: Relish delicious snacks and crispy bhajias paired with hot coffee at the homestay

  • 8:30 PM: Conclude the day with a cozy campfire (weather permitting), fun team-building activities, and dinner under the stars

Day 2

  • 7:00 AM: Rise and shine – wake up and freshen up

  • 8:00 AM: Enjoy a delicious breakfast

  • 9:00 AM: Check out from the homestay and board our bus

  • 9:30 AM: Explore the charming Samse Tea Estate

  • 1:30 PM: Visit the historic Belur Temple

  • 2:00 PM: Take a break for a self-sponsored lunch en route

  • 6:00 PM: Pause for a self-sponsored coffee break

  • 10:00 PM: Arrive in Bangalore
